Resumen

El turismo trastoca los escenarios contemporáneos y los convierte en imaginarios que dan cuenta de estrategias simbólicas y político-económicas de construcción de la identidad local, regional y nacional. Se concibe al turista como recolonizador en su papel de consumidor ad hoc de los productos creados en función de su demanda, pero también como sujeto activo de su trascendencia. Un discurso mediado por el exceso de imágenes acerca de la autenticidad y lo exótico, pero también acerca del hedonismo, el placer o la libertad, subyace en este proceso de reconquista de los espacios y lugares.
