Resumen

Este ensayo da seguimiento y continuidad a algunas inquietudes surgidas en el libro The Idea of a Social Science, el cual trata el tema de cuánto implica la comprensión de la vida social humana. Específicamente, se ocupa de asuntos relacionados con la antropología social. En la primera parte se refiere a algunas dificultades con respecto a las propuestas del profesor E. E. Evans-Pritchard en su clásico Brujería, magia y oráculos entre los azande. En la segunda parte se refutan ciertas críticas hechas recientemente por Alasdair McIntyre a Evans-Pritchard y Peter Winch; se replica, asimismo, los comentarios de MacIntyre, y expone algunas reflexiones personales adicionales sobre el concepto de aprendizaje a partir del estudio de una sociedad primitiva
