Abstract
Abstract
Through an analysis proposal for the relationship between urban space, performance and night, we reflect on the uses and meanings -symbolic and social- of the urban night which are expressed in the lived experience through social space and time whose differentiated accesses, inequalities and imaginaries particularize and diversify their cultural practices. Thus, although the vast diversity of nocturnal practices comprehension is evidently unfathomable, we propose, as a methodological tool for the approach and its analysis, a symbolic night categorization into two broad interrelated and complementary spheres, both with liminal borders that allow us to differentiate the uses and meanings of the nocturnal space: noctis and noctem.
