Journal’s characteristics
Alteridades is an editorial venue for the publication of original research papers, theoretical reflections and book reviews within the field of social anthropology and ethnology. The journal contributes to the advancement of academic knowledge in the social sciences, particularly in social anthropology and ethnology. It is edited in Spanish, with abstracts and keywords in English.
This international journal accepts articles written in Spanish from around the world that adhere to its thematic and editorial line. It currently publishes scientific articles -evaluated through a double-blind procedure-, book reviews and pertinent translations as assessed by the Editorial Committee. It is published biannually by the Anthropology Department of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa, in print and as an electronic open access journal and the Licencia de Creative Commons Reconocimiento-Nocomercial-NoDerivados 4.0 Internacional
Alteridades is committed to receiving, doing a pre-evaluation and, in case of fulfillment of editorial and pertinent criteria as established by the journal, sending submitted texts for peer-review. In each and every case, the journal will subject those texts approved in the pre-evaluation process to a double-blind peer-review. The journal will maintain anonymity of authors and reviewers. The journal’s editorial processes seek peer-reviewers to act under given terms so as to guarantee objectivity.
