Políticas de multilingüismo

Alteridades recognizes multilingualism as part of the academic, cultural, and epistemic diversity of the social sciences and humanities. The journal promotes the circulation of knowledge in different languages and seeks to foster dialogue among national and international academic communities. The journal is published in Spanish, and as an anthropology journal, it accepts submissions in other languages provided they are accompanied by a Spanish translation. In all cases, submissions must meet the journal’s established criteria for quality, clarity, consistency of argument, and editorial relevance. Alteridades supports the inclusion of indigenous, native, and community languages in the production of anthropological knowledge. When a submission includes terms, testimonies, indigenous categories, or materials in languages other than Spanish, it must treat them in a respectful, contextualized, and academically justified manner.

Translation and Responsibility

Authors are responsible for the quality of any translations included in their texts and for obtaining the necessary permissions and licenses for such translations. The journal may request revisions if it determines that a translation affects the clarity, accuracy, or academic quality of the manuscript.
